In a statement in Benin at the weekend after a neeting, the group cautioned some lawmakers against perpetuating mayhem in order to find excuses for launching impeachment proceedings against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
While listing the numerous roads, water and other giant infrastructural projects presently being undertaken by Akeredolu, the message which was signed by the chairman, Dr Samson Falana pleaded that the governor’s attention should not be diverted but rather be encouraged to deliver on these laudable projects.
Falana advised the Ibadan group of the lawmakers to see reason and to the honourable path of peace by retracing their footsteps as it is obvious that they have failed in their bid to oust the legitimate and legally recognised speaker.
He said: “The Ibadan Group of the members of the Ondo State House of Assembly should see reasons and follow the honourable path by retracing their footsteps as they have failed woefully in their bid to unseat the legitimate and legally recognised speaker. They should join hands together with their colleagues to work harmoniously with the executive to move the state forward.”
The uncompromising attitude of the so called All Progressives Congress,(APC) Lagos Mafia and the party national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole also drew ire.
Falana said: “The APC Lagos Mafia and Oshiomhole cannot stay over there to incite violence in the state. We should join the governor to deliver the dividends of democracy to the impoverished people of Ondo state.”
