The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, on Sunday lost his mother-in-law, Alhaja Abibat Baoku.
Alhaja Baoku, 97, died in the early hours of Sunday at her College Crescent, Ibadan home.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Personal Assistance/Director of Media and Public Affairs to the Olubadan, Adeola Oloko on Sunday morning.
Until her death, she was a renowned trader and wife of First Republic politician, Chief R. S. B Baoku.
Alhaja Abibat Baoku is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Among her surviving children are Messer Muniru Baoku, Olori Rasheedat Alolade Baoku and Mr Ganiyu Baoku.
She was buried at her home according to Islamic rites at 4.00 pm on Sunday.
