Students of tertiary institutions, who are indigenes of the 10 local government areas of Oke-Ogun in Oyo state, under the aegis of the National Association of Oke-Ogun Students (NAOOS), have hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for his support in the emergence of new leadership of the association.
In a statement signed by the new national president of the NAOOS, Ishak Yusuf Oyetunji, the new executive also commended other stakeholders in the area for their supports in the pre-election, during and post-election periods, which they said culminated in free and fair transition in the history of the association.
The people also described presence of the state deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, at the swearing-in and inauguration ceremonies held at Tede, Atisbo local government as a testament to the zeal which the state government has for promotion of the Oyo state student community.
The statement said that the gesture was an evidence that the state government is committed to student-centered development policies and has personal love for people of Oke-Ogun axis.
Members of the new executive, who pledged a new era of progress and development, called for support of all stakeholders in the area, as they promised to promote unity, transformation and renaissance.
“It is with heart full of sincerity that I write as the newly sworn-in national president of the National Association of Oke-Ogun Students (NAOOS) home and in diaspora, and my co-executives to express our appreciation to the Oyo State Government ranging from the state governor, deputy governor, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, the 10 local government chairmen in Oke-Ogun, Leaders and stakeholders.
“The new leadership of the NAOOS is forever grateful for the fatherly support for the new dawn of leadership in the organization.
“We appreciate the tremendous gestures of the Honourable Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Hon. Professor Saliu Abdulwaheed Adelabu, Hon. Tunde Taoheed Olayiwola TT, Hon. Olumuyiwa Bashir Alade MM, Hon. Muritala Oyewumi Abiodun (Natural), and other local government chairmen in Oke-Ogun, the Onitede of Tede and all paramount traditional rulers in Oke-Ogun for their unparalleled efforts and unquantifiable love for the Oke-Ogun, prioritizing the wellness and betterment of her student community’s future and making the paradigm shift in all aspects, to project Oke-Ogun students with best of image and matchless in the competition world statewide, nationally and internationally.
“Specially, we accord our gratification in appreciating the Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on student affairs Hon. Victor Olojede Dideoluwa, and our predecessors, most especially the outgone President and incumbent Saki-West Local Government Chief of Staff Hon. Richard Oluwaseun Oladeji, for observing the due process, maintaining legal process towards ensuring legitimacy, and upholding uninterrupted peace culture in the transition process.
“Our appreciation goes to our revered Oke-Ogun students’ stakeholders and leaders, political and non-political, for being there for us before, during and after election, and for the support pledged for our cradling administration to grow and flourish beyond expectations.
