Throughout Nigeria, the only backward area in terms of the lack of institutions of higher learning is the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State. Oke Ogun comprises Iseyin, Okeho, Iwere Ile, Otu, Tede, Ago Amodu, Saki, Igboho, Igbeti and Kisi. Ibadan, Oyo and Ogbomoso host all the institutions of higher learning in the state.
In order to minimise rural-urban migration and improve the standard of living of people in Oke Ogun, government should put machinery in motion to site higher institutions in the area as soon as possible.
