It was a great day for Fuji Star, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, and other public figures such as Alhaja Shukurat Modupeola, Alh. Abdulateeef Olanrewaju Sodiq, Alhaji Qamorudeen Lamina (Aare Adini), and Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Oluomo, as they were honoured by the Isobatu Li Khaeri Islamic Foundation of Nigeria at its 10th Malod Nabiyi and Turbaning Ceremony.
The event, attended by crème de la crème held at the popular Morocco Barracks, Yaba, Lagos State, started fairly late, but ended in glamour, given the number of guests that trooped in to celebrate these people.
According to the founder and missioner of the foundation, Alhaji Hammed Olarewaju Alfulanny, the awardees were recognised due to their selfless service to the public in their various capacities
Speaking during the ceremony, Alfulanny was quoted as saying “For instance, apart from his selfless service to humanity and achievement in entertainment, Obesere, who is now our Aare Amuludun Adini, is the only Fuji musician I know who has a mosque in his house; does not miss the five daily prayers; and has only one wife. I respect him so much. He spoke well about others.
On the occasion, Obesere was turbaned as Aare Amuludun Adini; Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Oluomo, (Asiwaju Adini); Alh. Abdulateeef Olanrewaju Sodiq (Balogun Adini); Alhaja Shukurat Modupeola (Iya Adini) and Alh. Qamorudeen Lamina (Aare Adini).
Other guests expected on the occasion are HIM Adbul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, Sheikh Alli Ajiyobiojo, Alh. Jimoh Olawale, Alh. Morufat Usamat, Soji Omotayo, Femi Branch, among others.
