Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured corps members posted to the state of their safety throughout their stay in the orientation camp and their primary places of assignment.
The governor made this statement today at the swearing-in ceremony of 1,336 Batch A Stream 1 corps members posted for their National Service.
The National Youth Service Corps posted 1,336 corps members, comprising 773 males and 619 females, to the state for their compulsory service.
The swearing-in ceremony took place today, Tuesday, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa George Faruta, represented the governor.

Governor Fintiri, while assuring the corps members deployed to the state of safety, urged them to feel free, as the state is a place they will love because security operatives will provide all necessary protection.
He, however, urged the corps members to be security-conscious and take full advantage of their service year to learn skills that will make them outstanding.
The Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, represented by Hon. Justice Hellen Nuhu Hammanjoda, administered the oath of allegiance to the Batch A Stream 1 corps members.
Administering the swearing-in ceremony, Adamawa State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, represented by Justice Hellen Nuhu Hammanjoda, urged the corps members to adhere to the rules of the camp and the service year.
The Director-General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Yushua Dogara, warmly welcomed the corps members and urged them to participate fully in all activities in the camp.
The NYSC DG, represented by the Adamawa State Coordinator, Jingi Denis, emphasized that the orientation is the first cardinal program of NYSC, noting that it will determine the corps members’ status. “So, I urge you to participate fully in all activities in the camp.”
“I urge you to exhibit your best behavior throughout the camping experience as it will determine your growth in life.”
Some of the corps members interviewed expressed joy, stressing that they would explore the potentials of Adamawa State in their primary assignments and promised to give back to society in the best way possible.
