MR Tony Omoja, Chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), in Anambra West Local Government Area, has called on people of the area to treat government’s facilities in their domain as theirs.
Omoja made the call in Nzam in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
He said that government’s presence was being felt in the council area with its citing developmental projects there unlike what it used to be some years back.
He advised the people to embrace the new development by protecting any facility provided for their use by the state government.
Omoja said that the ongoing palliatives on various roads in the area would bring relief to the people, especially, the civil servants who had suffered so much in the past while discharging their duties.
“Going to work by local government’s workers at its secretariat for many years now, had been a nightmare and highly expensive because of its terrain.
“I commend Gov Willie Obiano for alleviating our plight.
“I also want to commend the caretaker chairman of the council, Mr Tony Nwabunwanne, for being responsive to our yearnings and I assure him that workers will support him to achieve his goals,’’ he said.
He noted that with the relief in the mode of transportation, the need for workers to be punctual, dedicated, steadfast and competent at all times would be achieved.
