Tsav who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune in Makurdi on Monday said that neither age nor fragile health could pose a serious challenge to him if he wants the second term in office.
He explained that the younger ones who had ruled the country in the past messed up the economy which he said Buhari is presently fixing.
“Age does not matter in governance, after all the younger ones have messed up the country, if you are aged and you are sincere and honest, you can sit down and give instruction, the most important thing is to get right people to work with.”
Tsav explained that Muhammad Buhari is the best president the country could have since the nation’s independence, using his past antecedents in a war against corruption and indiscipline as a yardstick.
He berated those criticizing Buhari as enemies of Nigeria who he said still wanted to continue to feast on the national cake at the expense of the masses who he said the political elites have impoverished.
According to him, ‘Buhari is the best president for Nigeria since our independence, if you take time to study his activities in government, from the military governor, minister, chairman Petroleum Trust Fund, PTF, head of state and now president, he has always been fighting corruption.’
“He is a man of honour, honesty, and integrity and he is doing the job, anyone who loves Nigeria should support him, Buhari is good to use to Nigeria but people would not accept it because he is not allowing them to do their bidding.”
Tsav who is presently federal commissioner, Public Complaints Commission in charge of Benue state frowned at the restructuring of Nigeria stating that what Nigeria needs is to restructure our attitude and conduct.
He said there was nothing wrong with the composition of Nigeria which he said if adequately tapped could place the country as one of the strongest nations in the world.
While expressing serious concern that the issue of restructuring always surface whenever a Muslim is in the saddle of the government of Nigeria called on Nigerians to have attitudinal change for the country to attain its desired growth.
‘I have never believed in the restructuring of the country, what we need is a restructuring of our conduct and our behavior because selfishness is responsible for all the agitation here and there.’
“And if you see some of those championing restructurings, they are failed politicians who do not have the interest of the nation at heart and my worry is that anytime Christian is in power, we do not hear anything like restructuring until a Muslim is in government,” Tsav concluded.
