Nigerian rapper and entrepreneur, Naetochukwu Chikwe, popularly known as Naeto C, has opened up about his decision to put his music career on hold, explaining that family and life circumstances played a major role.

He revealed that getting married in 2012 and having his first child in 2013 made him rethink fully committing to music at that stage of his life.

He said, “for different reasons you know, I think I wanted something different when I thought about my future and the kind of life I wanted.

“I got married in 2012 and I had my first child in 2013, so looking at it back then, I do not really think I would get the kind of life I wanted if I continued to focus on music.

Naeto C also shared that music was never a carefully planned career, but something he pursued because of his passion and talent.

He continued, “I was one of those kinds of people that got into music not because I wanted to be a musician, it’s just because I liked music so much and I was able to make songs that people liked.’’

The rapper further revealed that every time he considered returning to the studio, unexpected events always seemed to intervene, making him question whether music was truly meant to be his full-time path.

He said, “You know the funny thing, every time I say I’m going back to the studio, something crazy will happen in my life, it’s crazy. So I’m just like, God, do you really want me to do this, maybe you don’t want me to do this.“So you go out and people are like, Naeto C, your music and I’m like, which one is it.

Naeto also mentioned that despite stepping back, fans frequently remind him of the impact of his music, leaving him torn between nostalgia and reality.

“Every day I meet people who remind me of the music and why the music was so special to them and every time I want to start a project, then something crazy will happen,” he added.
