Good morning Doc. I do have catarrh but mostly without coughing all year round. I used different drugs and went to several hospitals but the problem isn’t solved. I stopped drinking cold drinks, and so on but to no avail. I lost hope that my catarrh will be cured. I tested positive to low antibodies last year. Please advise me on what to do.

Long standing Catarrh and cough can be caused by several factors that range from allergies to infections and obstruction to the airways. Most often, cases such as yours are usually triggered off by allergic reactions to the weather, pollen grains among other allergens. Once the situation becomes chronic, infection will then set in. This is why you will benefit from a thorough medical examination and investigation to know the actual causes of your problem. Although you claim to have visited ‘several hospitals’ without a cure, it will be very helpful if you can see a doctor who specialises in Ear, Nose and Throat issues at the nearest Specialist or Teaching Hospital to you for proper treatment.
