The defendant of Dutse, Abuja, was docked on charges bordering on criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The prosecutor, John Okpa, told the court that one Mrs Elohor Uwalogbor reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on May 18.
He said that the defendant deceived the complainant to give him“ N2,030,000 under the pretext of procuring a visa for her.’’
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant misappropriated the money and did not procure the visa.
Okpa added that the offence contravened Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.

The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Abdulwahab Mohammed, granted the defendant N800,000 bails with two sureties in like sum, that must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case until Aug.23 for hearing.
