A 29-year-old man, Segla Bologna, who stole two pigs worth N70,000, on Monday appeared before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State.
Bologna, whose address was unknown, was arraigned on a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 21, at Topo Garage in Badagry.
Ikem said the stolen pigs belonged to the complainant, Mr Idowu Thomas.
“The accused saw the pigs roaming on the street and he decided to steal them thinking no one would notice.

”He was about driving away with them in his car before he was apprehended by the owner,” he said.
The offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Jimoh Adefioye, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 and a surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 10, for further hearing.
