Let’s back Tinubu on fuel subsidy removal, says Bishop Fabuluje

The Diocesan Bishop of Oke-Osun Church of Nigeria and president of synod, Reverend Oluwagbemiro Fabuluje has urged Nigerians to support the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu, saying the programme is long overdue.

He stated this at the Bishop’s Charge delivered at the first session of the eleventh synod, at St. David’s Anglican Church, Ode-Omu, Osun State, last Friday.

He said as a Nigerian, we need to support the ideal of the President Tinubu, just as he charged him to deliver all his electioneering promises.

“It is important for us, as Nigerians, to measure ourselves, especially in this challenging time with the removal of oil subsidy that has been long overdue because it is said to be a scam.

“We should ask ourselves, which of the two causes in our quoted verse of proverbs 14 do we now embrace, whether righteousness or sin. Corruption is a cankerworm that has caten so deep into the fabrics of this nation. This endemic (corruption) is the country’s greatest challenge to her governance and inability of her citizen to enjoy the dividends of democracy in the last 24 years.

“The Transparency International Corruption perception index ranked Nigeria 154 out of 180 countries. Though the report was described as sensational and baseless by Government officials, the fact remains that Nigeria is ‘Pantastically corrupt’ – courtesy one time British Prime Minister, David Cameron,” he added.

Also, he said church and the states are divinely instituted noted that the scripture teaches that both the church and the state belong to God Almighty.

“Our optimism can become insanity if we want to insist that all is well with Nigeria Electoral System, when in actual sense all is not well

There is too much hypocrisy, double standards and outright lawlessness in the country and unfortunately, it cut across all tribes ethnicity and religions,” he added.
