A legal practitioner, Tope Adebayo, has called on stakeholders and citizens of Ekiti State to be united towards confronting the rising cases of insecurity in the state.
Adebayo spoke following Monday’s gruesome murder of two monarchs by armed men along Oke Ako-Irele road and abductionĀ of some primary school pupils in Emure Ekiti.
During the attack, the two royal fathers, the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin and the Olumojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Olatunde Olusola, were brutally murdered by the marauders; while the Alara of Ara (Ikole),Oba Sunday Adebayo Fatoba, escaped the murderous attack narrowly.
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti, on Thursday by his media aide, Oluwasegun Aina , titled: “Gruesome murder of Ekiti traditional rulers, time for unity against terror”, the lawyer commended the efforts of the state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, since the unfortunate incident, adding that all efforts must be geared towards protecting the state against the marauders.
He extended his condolences to the governor, the traditional institutions and the citizens over the killings of the revered monarchs, calling on the security agencies to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.
Adebayo said, āThe news of the occurrence is sad and devastating and has necessitated the needĀ for well-meaning citizens of our State to support the current administration to accomplish its plans to secure the State.
“The five pupils and four members of staff of Apostolic Faith Group of School, Emure-Ekiti kidnapped is another unfortunate incident the Security Agencies in the State must resolve with every tact and urgency.
“This is indeed a time for everyone in the State to support Governor Oyebanji’s led administration to secure our dear State and the time to be our brothers’ keepers
“I want to use this medium to call on the good people of Ekiti State to support Governor Oyebanji’s led administration by giving verifiable information to security agencies to stem the tide of evils in our peaceful state.ā
