The Chairman, Itire-Ikate LCDA, Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, is aiming to disburse N50m Federal Government’s economic relief intervention program to vulnerable residents in the district.
The empowerment, according to the council chairman, is being carried out under the Federal Government’s economic palliative to the citizens through the local government authority.
Under the initiative, the sum of N100,000 will be given to each individual comprising artisans, People Living with Disabilities (PWLD), Community Development Associations (CDA/CDC), youth organizations, market associations, religious groups, traditional groups and the elderly.
While reiterating his administration’s commitment to supporting residents, widows and the physically challenged in every possible way to make life easier for them, he urged the government at all levels to prioritise empowering the people to curb the Japa syndrome.
He added, “This economic enhancement support program is part of our effort to improve the lives of Itire-Ikate LCDA residents. By targeting diverse groups, the initiative aims to create a positive impact on the community’s economic and social well-being.
“The program’s implementation will involve a structured disbursement process, ensuring that funds reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently.”
Apatira emphasised that the empowerment is ongoing initiative while assuring that residents will continue to benefit from such economic interventions.
