Kwara State publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince ‘Tunji Moronfoye, has resigned from his position as a member of the state working committee (SWC) of the party.
In his letter written to the chairman of the party in the state, Babatunde Mohammed, titled, RESIGNATION OF MY POSITION AS PDP STATE PUBLICITY SECRETARY, on Monday, Moronfoye said that his resignation was based on personal reasons.
Moronfoye was a special assistant on Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) under the past administration of Governor Bukola Saraki and the state commissioner for Information in the immediate past administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
“I am writing you this letter to signify my intention to resign my position as the State Publicity Secretary of the party and State Working Committee (SWC) member.
“My decision to resign my position is premised on personal reasons and hold no animosity against the PDP and her Leadership sir. It was an honour and indeed a privilege working with a great team and I can only praise all the SWC members I have worked with, in the period in which I held office.
“I wish you, the Peoples Democratic Party and SWC all the very best in the future sir.
“Please receive the assurances of my highest regards sir”, the letter read.
Reacting to the development, the PDP chairman in the state, Babatunde Mohammed, said that there was no cause for alarm.
“Distinguished PDP stalwarts, there is no problem. Prince Moronfoye is preparing for another special assignment.
“Thanks for your concern and unalloyed LOYALTY”, he said.
