Kano Court approves KANSIEC to conduct LG elections, Saturday

Published by

A Kano high court presided over by Justice Salisu Maji has given go-ahead to the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) to conduct Saturday local government council election

However, it will be recalled that a Federal high court presided over by Justice Simon Emaboda had sacked the KANSIEC’s chairman, Professor Sani Lawan Malunfashi, on the allegation of being a card-carrying member of the New Nigeria People Party ( NNPP)

While addressing a press conference, Professor Malumfashi said the KANSIEC’ would go along with the already planned plan put in place to conduct the local government council election tomorrow.

He also disclosed that the opposition party that dragged the state election body to court by the recent judgement has no locust standing to prevent KANSIEC from conducting the election

Professor Malumfashi emphasised that six political parties were participating in the election slated for tomorrow.
