Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated Mazi Afam Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, on his election as President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
It will be recalled that Osigwe, the senior partner of Law Forte, a firm of legal practitioners, arbitrators, and notaries, emerged as the as the winner of the NBA presidential election held online over the weekend.
He holds two Master of Law degrees and was called to the bar in Nigeria in September 1999.
Osigwe became SAN in 2020 and has previously served as chairman and general secretary of the bar.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Levinus Nwabughiogu, Deputy Speaker Kalu, who is also a lawyer, encouraged Osigwe to leverage his extensive experience in his new role.
He urged Osigwe to uphold professionalism and integrity within the NBA.
Hon. Kalu, who is also the chairman of the House Committee on Constitution Review, expressed his willingness to collaborate with the president-elect to achieve desired judicial reforms and promote the rule of law in Nigeria.
