The Qatari government’s investment arm has announced a groundbreaking $20 billion partnership with the Jeniks Group, marking a transformative step in unlocking Africa’s untapped gas reserves.
This strategic alliance aims to boost gas reserve acquisition and liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects across 14 African nations.
Jeniks Group, with key hubs in Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, and Dubai, has positioned itself as a formidable force in the global energy sector.
Under the leadership of its founder, Princess Joy Osifo, the company has secured a strategic gas reserve and aggregation contract, solidifying its collaboration with Qatar’s investment authority.
The partnership will focus on projects in countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, and Algeria.
Notably, Qatar has expressed interest in Nigeria’s Brass LNG project, a joint venture with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), and in acquiring LNG vessels for gas cargo transport.
This investment represents a major leap for Africa’s energy industry, with operations beginning in the first quarter of 2024. Jeniks Group’s chairperson emphasized the significance of Qatar’s expertise in LNG, which adheres to stringent global standards.
Princess Joy Osifo, founder and president of Jeniks Group, has played a pivotal role in actualizing this monumental deal. With an extensive background spanning law, banking, and business administration, she has shattered barriers in the male-dominated oil and gas industry.
Under her leadership, Jeniks Group has forged international partnerships, driven innovative projects, and expanded its footprint across Africa and the Middle East.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Princess Osifo is celebrated for her philanthropic efforts. Through the Princess Foundation (The Helping Hands Home), she has transformed over 100,000 lives by providing scholarships, vocational training, and community development initiatives.
The foundation focuses on education, healthcare, and women empowerment, supporting underprivileged children, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and facilitating economic independence through skills training.
Dubbed the “Queen of Gas,” Princess Osifo’s vision and dedication have positioned Jeniks Group as a leader in Africa’s energy transformation. Her story serves as an inspiration for entrepreneurs and women leaders globally, proving that excellence in business can be seamlessly combined with a commitment to social impact.
This partnership between Qatar and Jeniks Group is expected to not only redefine Africa’s energy landscape but also create a ripple effect of development and empowerment across the continent.
