The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), on Tuesday, said that in the renewed efforts to end insurgency activities in the country by the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), the Troops of Operation Accord operating in the North-West have neutralised two armed bandits along Sabon-Iche-Kagarko road in Kaduna State.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Coordinator Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General John Enenche.
Gen Enenche explained that the gallant troops successfully executed the operation, on Monday, following actionable and credible intelligence on the movement of bandits in that area.
He stated that during the encounter, the two bandits were eliminated while others fled with gunshot wounds inflicted on them.
He added that credible source affirmed that the suspects were part of the bandits that have been terrorising the area.
Gen Eneche pointed out that the gallant troops have continued to dominate the area with aggressive patrols to deny bandits freedom of action.
He, however, assured the resolve of the Armed Forces of Nigeria never to relent until all enemies of the Country were neutralised and normalcy restored to all troubled zones in the country.
