The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imo State chapter, led by Charles Ugwu, has accepted the resignation of its former Publicity Secretary, Mr Ogubundu Nwadike.
Nwadike had in a letter dated September 15, 2021, notified the party of his resignation as the State Publicity Secretary of the party and his membership from the party.
In a statement issued on Friday in Owerri by the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mazi Emenike Mmeregini, said that “the State Working Committee of the PDP Imo State, after deliberation, has accepted the decision of Mr Ogubundu Nwadike and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
The party said that there is no vacuum in the party as the Assistant Publicity Secretary had since assumed duties as provided by the Constitution of the party, pending when an official appointment would be made to replace the former Publicity Secretary.
The party urged its members and supporters to remain steadfast to the ideals of the party.
