A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Otunba Segun Adewale, has reaffirmed that he remains the chairman of the party in the State, calling on all members and supporters to dismiss what he termed “watery release” from PDP zonal chairman, Chief Eddy Olafeso, concerning Lagos PDP chairmanship seat.
Adewale said this in a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend in reaction to the response made by Olafeso on the chairmanship tussle, and carried by some national dailies.
“I reaffirm again that I remain the state chairman of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State,” Otunba Adewale said, declaring that the earlier the former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Bode George and his gang, including Olafeso started getting used to the fact that he (Adewale) was the new man in town who would reform the party and bring it to victory, the better for them.
“The earlier Chief Bode George and his gang start getting used to the fact that I am the new man in town who will reform the party and bring it to victory, the better for them,” the party chieftain said.
This was as he asserted that members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) led by the party national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, won’t be part of selfish plot by some leaders in the state, maintaining that party members in Lagos knew who they wanted as leaders.

While expressing his commitment to liberate Lagos PDP from the grip of those he described as rent seekers, Adewale said his renewed effort at seizing the party control in the state had left the affected so confused and were, therefore, saying all about that he had left PDP.
“They are now so confused that I am stripping them naked, they are busy saying that I have left PDP,” he said, raising some posers: “If I have left PDP, how come I was appointed as the DG of Atiku/Obi and Agbaje in the Lagos West Senatorial district in the 2019 elections, how come I was one of the donors to Presidential election in Lagos, how come I led rallies for PDP Presidential election, how come that I donated four hummer jeeps to PDP campaign, how come that I was on the Stage at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) with same Bode George and other key members of our party during Atiku’s Lagos rally, among others?
“I want our teeming members and supporters in Lagos and across Nigeria to note that this is a fight to liberate Lagos PDP from the rent seekers who don’t want the party to record any winning because the failure of the party in every four years is a huge financial gain to them,” he said.
