I am HIV positive

During one of a routine medical examination for employment, I discovered that I am HIV positive. I have a wife and two children.  Although the HIV Counsellor asked me to inform my wife and bring her and the children for tests, I am afraid of the outcome. Since I don’t have any symptoms, can I continue my life without informing my wife?

Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to the issue of HIV. The earlier you obey your counsellor by informing your wife so that she and the children could go for tests, the better for you. At any rate, thanks to available and affordable Laboratory facilities and medications, HIV is no longer a death sentence, so you have little or nothing to worry about.
