Various social classes, including the political elite, were represented at the Castle Event Centre, venue of the show, which overflowed with fun-seekers of all ages.
In the hall to enjoy hearty laughter were the former governor of Kaduna State, the Dallatun Zazzau, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and his wife, Hajia Fatima Mukhtar Yero; representative of the current governor of the state and Special Adviser to the Governor on Creative Art, Hajia Halima Idris; senior members of the armed forces, such as, Air Vice Marshall Chris Okoye and his wife, Faith Okoye; Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Daniel Amuze Danauta; Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Dr. Manzo Daniel, chief executive officers and private sector heavy weights, among others.
Top-rate acts who entertained the audience included Kaduna’s leading light in comedy, Saeed Muhammad, popularly known as Funky Mallam and comic stars such as I Go Dye, Gordons, Acapella, De Don, and Senator.
I Go Dye, Acapella, Senator and De Don were particularly outstanding on a night of uncommon laughter and merriment, conducted by some of the industry’s masters.
De Don shared a funny story of his experience with a beggar in America when he last visited.
I Go Dye touched on a variety of topics, including sharing his own perspective on why Nigerians are being deported from other countries. The reason, he jokingly opined, is to be found in the wording of the passport’s preface.
Funky Mallam in his own routine called on Kaduna residents to embrace peace in the interest of unity and progress, noting that in the long run, no one really profited from killing his fellow human beings. I Go Dye also harped on the need for peace among Kaduna residents and across Nigeria. He called for amicable settlement of all rifts like brothers and sisters.
