People of Oba-Isin community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Yakubu Danladi to help facilitate mobile telecommunications network service to the area.
In a separate thank-you visitsto the duo of speaker and the former state Commissioner for Works, Rotimi Iliasu, the Oloba of Oba-Isin, Oba Timothy Oyenbanji urged the Speaker to use his office to fast-track the implementation of the mobile network project in the area.
Oba Oyebanji, who described the two political leaders as worthy ambassadors and recipients of honorary chieftaincy title holders in Oba-Isin community, said that the mobile telecoms service is capable of attracting improved socioeconomic development, commerce and investment to the area.
The monarch also used the occasion to appreciate Danladi, who was honoured with a chieftaincy title, Otunba Atadese of Oba kingdom for the role he played in the commencement of reconstruction work on Oba-Owu Waterfall road.
The monarch said that the road which was first constructed during Governor Bukola Saraki-led administration had gone bad.
Oba Oyebanji noted that the road is significant to socioeconomic progress of Oba-Isin community.
The traditional ruler, who was accompanied by the president, Oba Development Association (ODA), Pastor Sunday Oladiji, represented by the patron, Elder Kayode Adeoti, urged the Speaker to consider teeming youths of Oba in the employment formular of the state.
The community also declared support for Danladi in his political endeavour, saying that he is now regarded as the son of the soil owing to his traditional title of Otunba Atadese of the community.
The Speaker, in his response, thanked the traditional ruler and urged the community to continue supporting Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led government, promising to look into requests made by the community.
He also promised to visit the community as a reciprocation of the gesture advanced by the monarch and his delegation.
The people also appreciated Iliasu, who was also honoured with Otunba Mayegun of Oba-Isin, over donation of instructional materials to students of the community school ahead their resumption.
The community urged him to continue touching lives as he is known for, noting that he will always be appreciated for his contributions to the community.
