President of Resident Doctors, Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Dr Jerry Isogun, has been abducted.
Tribune Online gathered that hoodlums, suspected to be kidnappers, swooped on their victim on Wednesday along Benin-Sapele highway.
The dual carriageway has been a source of concerns for motorists in the past six months due to its deplorable state.
Dr Isogun was reportedly heading back home when he was waylaid and swooped on by gun-bearing assailants, dragging him to an unknown location with his car.
Although some sources at DELSUTH have reportedly confirmed the development, Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Yinka Adeleke, did not respond to calls made to his mobile phone, neither has he replied a text message sent by the correspondent.

Ditto for the PPRO, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, whose mobile phone was called also rang out.
One of the sources said the Dr Isogun, a seasoned healthcare practitioner, who’s a specialist Gynaecologist and Obstetrician in DELSUTH, Oghara, Delta, was whisked away in his car by the gunmen.
Independent sources said the medical doctor was heading from work to join his family in his Sapele home when he ran into the hoodlums.
The parlous state of some portions of the Benin-Warri highway has been attributed as reason kidnapping has gradually resurfaced in the axis.
This is in spite of the presence of several checkpoints manned by soldiers, police and other security agents.
It would be recalled that just during the week, the Dr Cairo Ojuogho-led Interim Committee of the NDDC made an on-the-spot-assessment to some deplorable portions of the road with a promise to commence repairs immediately.
