Ogun State Iyaloja-General, Alhaja Yemisi Abass, has been initiated into Akoni Yoruba Heroine Hall of Fame as the Akoni ‘Birin’ Yoruba Year 2024 and Grand Matron in recognisation of her selfless service to humanity and unprecedented contribution to the development of Yoruba race
The recognition was conferred on her by the Yoruba Heritage Leadership International Platform at its general meeting held recently at Airport Hotel, Lagos State.
The award celebrated Iyaloja-General’s exceptional contributions to Yoruba race, nation building, overhauling of the economy sector in particular as well as her standing as the vanguard for the improvement of the wellbeing of the masses
While presenting the awards, secretary/coordinator of the group, Asiwaju Temidayo Ayodele at the Alaye of Ayetoro’s palace in Ayetoro Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, said recognition for womenfolk must be accorded the rightful position
The Yoruba Heritage Leadership International Platform annually honours individuals, brands, and products that have excelled in their respective fields, while highlighting Mrs Abass’ outstanding dispositions towards the growth, development and improvement of Yoruba region as key to her recognition
Alhaja Abass’ dedication continues to earn her accolades, solidifying her position as a leading figure in the region
In her response, Alhaja Abass expressed gratitude to the organiser for the honour and the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration for the conducive environment across the state.
She reiterated commitment to serving humanity, as well as improvement of the economy and advancing the interests of the Yoruba race
A release signed by the Zonal Information Officer of Yewa North Local Government Area, Lateef Akintade, stated that the event was witnessed by the Alaye of Ayetoro, Oba AbdulAzeez Adelakun, the Alaye-in-Council, the representatives of Olojas, Mr Olayemi Oke, among others.
