The Gombe State House of Assembly has passed the State’s 2025 budget, amounting to N369.9 billion, an increase of N49.8 billion from the initial N320.1 billion proposed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The approval was made following the adoption of observations and recommendations from the House Committee on Appropriation during a plenary session on Tuesday.

Presenting the committee’s report, Hon. Aliyu Baba Manu, Chairman of the Appropriation Committee and representative of Gombe North Constituency, explained that after extensive budget defense sessions with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), significant adjustments were made.

He explained that Capital receipts were increased by N42 billion, primarily allocated to the State Urban Renewal, Water, Agriculture, and Health (SURWAAH) programme while the internal revenue projection was adjusted upward by N639.5 million.

The social sector was allocated N62.1 billion, making up 24.5%, while the administrative and law and justice sectors received N9.5 billion and N3.9 billion, representing 3.7% and 1.5% respectively.

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo led a detailed clause-by-clause review of the appropriation bill, culminating in its third reading and subsequent passage into law.
