Give us credible informations on vandals — Zamfara NSCDC

Published by

The Zamfara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sani Mustapha, has urged unions of artisans and craftsmen to provide the Corps with credible information on the activities of vandals in the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Zamfara NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Ikor Oche SC, Commandant Sani Mustapha said he made the disclosure when he hosted the Artisan and Craftsmen Empowerment Association at the State Command Headquarters in Gusau on August 30, 2023.

The State NSCDC Boss, Sani Mustapha, averred that the group is cardinal in youth empowerment and resourceful in engaging young minds in productive ventures in the state, thereby reducing the rate of youth involvement in crimes.

He charged the group to be good ambassadors of society by reporting any suspected criminal activities of any unscrupulous element in society to the relevant authorities in the state.

He assured the group of the readiness of NSCDC to support the trade union in all legitimate endeavours.

Meanwhile, the Trade Union Chairman, Mr Tukur Rabiu Abdullahi, who spoke through the Publicity Secretary, extolled the Corps in Zamfara State Command.

He said that the Union, having recognised the oversight functions of the Corps, which include monitoring of Trade Unions, has decided to come and felicitate with the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zamfara State Command.

The Chairman, however, seeks the support of the Corps in their lawful activities.

He also pledged to make all the members of the union law-abiding and to provide any security information at their disposal to the Corps to help curb the rising wave of insecurity in the state.
