The Kano State Government, in its effort to safe the lives of students in boarding schools over kidnapping and insurgency, has again ordered the immediate closure of Harbau Tsangaya Model Boarding primary school in Tsanyawa Local Government area which is located on borderline with Katsina State.
This was just as parents were advised to go to the school to pick their children.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Aminu Ahmad Turaki, on behalf of the chairman of the Kano State Board for Islamiyya and Tsangaya schools, Gwani Yahuza Gwani Dan Zarga, and made available on Tuesday.
The statement also stated that the decision to close the Tsangaya boarding school in borderline axis followed the recent kidnapping of some boarding school students in Niger and Zamfara States though they have all been released.
It will be recalled that the state government has closed more than 12 boarding schools in the outskirts of the metropolis as a proactive measure to check students’ abduction.
The statement said, “it was necessary for the Kano State Government to take proactive measures to prevent the occurrence of such incidents in the schools.”
