It was a happy moment for four inmates of Kwale custodian centre in Delta State as they breathed air of freedom courtesy of theĀ state Chief Judge, Justice Theresa Dai.
Four others were granted bail, including a female,Ā Miss Precious Obinna, who wasĀ Ā accused of murder of a little boy around the residence of her boyfriend in Abbi, Ndokwa West area of the state.
Justice Dai, who reviewed a total of 293 warrants during her second quarter visit to the centre, commended the stakeholders, including the Deputy Controller of Prison in the custodian centre, security agents, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the udges, as well as the zonal officers for their commitment to duty.
She hinted that she would give award to judges for their outstanding performance and assured that every hardwork will be rewarded.
Speaking to the Nigerian Tribune shortly after being bailed, Miss Obinna, a native ofĀ Orlu in Imo State, said the child died a day before she visited her boyfriend.
She said she was wrongly accused and remanded in the prison since March 22, after she was arrested by the stateās CID .
While calling on children to always listen and obey their parents and abstain from immoral life style, Obinna said that she had learnt her lessons by going into relationship with the boy against the advice of her mother.
