Following heavy downpour in Ondo state on Sunday and Monday evening, many residents of Akure community, Idanre and Ayede Ogbese, have been sacked from their homes by the flood which submerged many of the homes.
Apart from houses, shops were not left out as some goods were destroyed and washed in the flood, while property which included cars, mattresses, cooking utensils among other items worth millions of Naira were destroyed by the flood.
However, some residents of the affected communities have called on the State and Federal government and other relevant agencies to come to their aid.

Speaking to newsmen, one of the victims Mr Festus Olamiti, said his family had been rendered homeless, saying his house had been destroyed by the flood while he appealed to the government yo render necessary assistance to the victims.
The 70 year -old retiree lamented that all his life saving had been washed away by the flood.
He said apart from being sacked from his house, his fish ponds were also washed away by the flood within a few hours and called for assistance from the government.
Another victim who identified herself simply as Bolatito narrated with tears that she was left with nothing except the clothes on her at the time of the incident, appealing to the government and individual Nigerians to help her.
She urged the state government to dredge the Ogbese river to prevent frequent and re-occurrence of the incident.
