President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been called upon to expedite action on immediate steps capable of ameliorating the current hardship being experienced by a large percentage of Nigerians following the removal of the petrol subsidy.
Making the call was Nigerian-American politician and businessman, Kayode Abegunde, in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday.
Abegunde noted that irrespective of whatever, President Tinubu, should take very serious promises made to Nigerians while seeking their support to become the country’s President.
He said: “What an average Nigerian is facing at the moment is not really different from what is being witnessed in a war-ravaged country. Prices of food are on the high side, cost of transportation is unbearable as well as other basic amenities.”
Abegunde, who is seeking votes to become the Insurance Commissioner in the State of Delaware, in the United States of America, posited that being a leader requires a lot of sacrifices, calling on President Tinubu to come up with palliatives that will have positive effects on the people of Nigeria other than the ones that will be diverted by enemies of the country.
He, therefore, urged Nigerians to persevere, and be prayerful and asked them to support the government wherever possible, while hoping for the best.
