Chief George Olusina Atanda Owolabi, has been installed as Baale Egan in Owowo, Ewekoro North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Owolabi, a real estate consultant is the ninth Baale of the community.
The installation took place recently in Owu community and was conducted by the Alawowo of Awowo town, Oba Abdul-Gafar Olasunkanmi Tijani Gbadewolu I.
Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman of Ewekoro North Local Government, Prince Kehinde Adepegba, charged the community leader as well as other traditional rulers in the council area to continue to promote peace and support government policies and programmes so as to bring development to the area.
He congratulated the new Baale and wished him a peaceful and successful reign.
In his address, Oba Tijani, who traced his ancestral history to Egan community, tasked the new traditional ruler to ensure continued peace and harmony in his community.
He also thanked the state government, especially the local government boss for approving the candidature of the new Baale.
In his remarks, Chief Owolabi, thanked his prescribed authority, the Alawowo for finding him worthy for the appointment.
He promised to do his best to bring development to the community.
The occasion was witnessed by dignitaries from far and near including, Mr. John Awofe Owolabi, Alhaji Samsideen Kazeem, Alhaji Mubashiru Amosun, Chief Olubayo Owolabi, Pastor Mutiu Kazeem, among others.
