The ongoing protest to end bad governance in Nigeria has not resulted in any marching processions in Anambra State.
Our correspondent, who is currently monitoring the situation across the three major cities in the state—Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi—gathered that residents are observing the exercise from home.
Banks, petrol stations, and shopping complexes are under lock and key. There is no marching procession anywhere across the state. However, there are no restrictions on people or vehicular movement. Some traders in Onitsha and Nnewi have partially opened their shops for business transactions.
Security operatives have been sighted in different locations across the state to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
Prof. Clifford Ezekwe Nwanna, a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, in his brief comment, appealed to the Federal Government to urgently address the issue, stressing that if not properly handled, it may add more pain to the masses.
