A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Dan Okpoko, has reconciled factional 40 leaders of the party in the local government in furtherance of his efforts to have the party take over the leadership of the area in the 2019 general elections.
Speaking with newsmen in Nimo during a reception organized for the PDP senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Mrs Uche Ekwunife, Okpoko expressed satisfaction with the result of the meeting, disclosing that they had all resolved to work together for the success of the PDP in the general elections.
‘We have agreed to support all the PDP candidates. This coming election will be PDP all through,’ Okpoko stated.
He said that since the meeting he had been inundated with requests by people to be issued with party membership cards. According to him, the people were anxious to identify with him in his new party, the PDP.

‘What is happening is encouraging and shows that PDP will take over in Njikoka after the elections. The coast is now clear,’ Okpoko assured, disclosing of plans to embark on an aggressive door to door campaign.
On the candidacy of the PDP senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Ekwunife, Okpoko said her chances of winning were very high as the work she did for the area still stood out and remained unmatched.
‘She is tested and trusted. She is a goldfish and has no hiding place. This is the time for her to possess her possessions,’ he stated, noting that he joined PDP because of the party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Uche Ekwunife.
