The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has officially launched the distribution of 7,000 bags of rice donated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
Speaking during the formal handover of the food items to the Zamfara APC leadership on Friday, Dr Matawalle, who was represented by the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Hon Tukur Umar Danfulani, said the donation was a personal gesture from President Tinubu to appreciate the loyalty and resilience of APC members in the state.
He emphasised that the federal government under President Tinubu is intensifying efforts to restore lasting peace in Zamfara and other parts of the North West region, urging party supporters to continue praying for the return of peace and stability.
According to the minister, the donation is a demonstration of appreciation for the unwavering dedication and loyalty of APC stakeholders in Zamfara, noting that their commitment has helped keep the party strong despite being in opposition in the state. “Despite the fact that the party is not in control of Zamfara State, our members are looking good, better than the members of the ruling PDP in the state,” he said.
