A gun-running syndicate in Delta State through which a musician and delivery worker, Oghenemine Ogidi, aka OG Milan, met his untimely death at a motor park in Effurun, has been smashed, with the members now in police custody.

The suspects are Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa, Amadi Princewill and Amadi Felix Chibuike, who police alleged are members of Black Axe confraternity.

Parading them in Asaba, on Monday, the state Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, said the suspects were arrested in Bayelsa and Imo states after a painstaking investigation and intelligence-led operations carried out by operatives of the command.

Oyeniyi said the first suspect, Chukwuemeka, was arrested in Bayelsa on May 4, alongside his friend and roommate, whose phone he allegedly used as a means of communication to purchase the gun.

The police boss further alleged: “Emmanuel revealed that he bought the gun from one Amadi Princewill for N290,000 and sold the gun to one Desmond (at large) for N380,000, who in turn, way-billed it to Effurun and contacted Ogidi [now deceased] to collect it and send to Sapele.

“Following the confession of Chukwuemeka, the second suspect, Princewill, was trailed and arrested in Imo State on May 15.

“Upon the arrest of Princewill, and on interrogation, he stated that he bought the gun from one Amadi Felix for the sum of N200,000.

“Consequently, Felix was trailed and arrested in Owerri, on May 16. All suspects are members of Black Axe confraternity.”

Oyeniyi said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation, while a manhunt for other suspects is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, the five policemen accused of killing the 28-year-old Ogidi are to be arraigned on June 15.

They are Assistant Superintendents of Police Usman Nuhu, Onoloko Dauroupamo, Okoh Kelechi; Inspectors Goodluck Kingsley and Omonigho Ahweyev, who were remanded in prison custody by a Delta State High Court when they appeared on June 1.
