The Presidential Committee on North-East Initiative (PCNI) has delivered additional relief materials to the displaced Nigerian living in the Republic of Cameroon, in furtherance to the humanitarian efforts of the Federal Government through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
In a statement by Sani Datti, Head, Media and Public Relations, NEMA, the PCNI items comprised mostly of non-food items were presented by the Director Search and Rescue of NEMA, Air Commodore Salisu Mohammed, along with the relief materials of the agency to the Cameroonian authorities Minawao, Far North Region of the country. The occasion was witnessed by representatives of United Nations High Commission of Refugees (UNHCR).
The PCNI items which were mostly made up of non-food items, included 1941 pillows, 1214 mattress, 4646 sandals, 1520 mosquito nets, 990 blankets,3990 clothing, 3946 sanitary pads, 1957 plastic buckets, 4032 notebooks, 3984 exercise books, 12240 plastic plates, 4800 plastic cups, 960 plastic spoons, 9920 baby mats, 36000 toilet soaps and 4032 pencils.
Other items in the list were 597 bags of sugar, 300 bags of millets, 500 cartons of noodles, 201 cartons of peak milk, 200 cartons of milo, 200 kegs of oil and 23800 sachets of salt.
The items were distributed by the UNHCR officials to the displaced Nigerians based on households.
