BAYELSA State governor, Honourable Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday, swore in five commissioners and two new permanent secretaries, with a charge to align themselves with the policies and programmes of administration.
The governor said their appointments were premise on the need to reposition various sectors of the economy of the state and ensure adequate delivery of campaign promises to the people.
Stressing the need for them to bring into bear their wealth of experiences in their various fields, Dickson said this was mostly needed, especially this period that the administration was working towards achieving its goal of making Bayelsa one of the leading states in country.
He said the commissioner were carefully chosen and their selection based on their tract records and the government was expecting them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
“We are now in the second phase of our government and we need people who are dedicated and loyal to the people and the government. Also, you people must cue into the policies and programmes of the present administration,” he advised.
Dickson called on the Commissioners of Health, Women Affairs, Tourism Development, Ijaw National Affairs to effect positive changes in their various ministries.
He said the administration had invested in the various sectors in line with its policy,and, therefore called on the commissioners to build on the foundation by ensuring that their respective ministries were rated high in the Country.
The new incommissioners are: Mr. Austin Dressman; Professor Ebitimitula Etebu; Mrs Martha Jenakumo, and Mrs Ebiere Ajunwa Musa.
