Omo-Agege, in a statement signed by his Senior Legislative Aide, Prince Efe Duku, and made available to the Tribune Online on Thursday, in Warri, Delta State, maintained that his purported expulsion from the Delta APC by the Chief Cyril Ogodo-led faction was not only rascally, but defamatory.

The statement reads in full:
“Yesterday, Chief Cyril Ogodo and a few others who have been duly expelled from the All Progressives Congress, APC, issued a fake statement purporting to have “expelled” the Most Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege from the APC.
“This is yet another laughable and senseless act of impunity, rascality and defamation against Senator Omo-Agege by these disruptive elements sponsored by Olorogun Otega Emerhor, who has also been expelled from the APC by our SWC.
“We make haste to say that by their valid, subsisting and unchallenged expulsion from the APC by the only duly recognized SWC in Delta, Ogodo, Emerhor and their co-travelers are no longer in the APC.
“Not being members of our party, they cannot act in any manner whatsoever in the name of APC. The statement on Senator Omo-Agege is therefore a childish act, an extreme joke as much as it is criminal.
“We did not expect Emerhor and his defeated political merchants to get to this extent.
“It is only in Ogodo and Emerhor’s fantasyland that persons who are not members or executives of any known party would announce with criminal brazenness that they have expelled a sitting Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from his own party!
“That itself further confirms why the SWC moved against these interlopers who are bent on sabotaging the APC in Delta State simply because Senator Omo-Agege and other APC leaders in Delta rejected their mercantile brand of politics.
“It is a fact that Emerhor was duly expelled from the APC for allegedly engaging in serious offences, including conducting or participating in an illegal senatorial primary election in the name of APC, and without lawful authorization.
“Senator Omo-Agege has nothing to do with it, but believes saboteurs have to either change their ways or be shown the way out of the APC.
“Expelled saboteurs cannot be allowed to disrupt our party, as Ogodo and Emerhor are now doing.
“They have no power whatsoever to do anything in the name of APC.
“Their statement on Senator Omo-Agege is worthless, lawless and defamatory. They should get ready to pay huge costs under the law.”
