Honourable Dayo Roland Ogunwobi, a UK-based businessman and philanthropist, has unveiled a foundation aimed at uplifting children and fostering community development in his hometown of Ogbomoso.
This initiative underscores his commitment to addressing critical issues such as child welfare, education, and poverty alleviation.
The foundation, named the Roland Emmanuel Foundation Initiatives, is dedicated to providing resources for underprivileged, children, including scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship programs. In addition to its focus on education, the foundation plans to invest in healthcare and infrastructure projects that benefit the broader African community.
Ogunwobi expressed gratitude to his roots, highlighting his determination to give back to the community that shaped his early life. “This foundation is not just about charity; it is about empowerment and creating opportunities for sustainable development,” he remarked.
Prominent figures lauded Ogunwobi’s vision and urged others in the diaspora to follow his example by contributing to Nigeria’s grassroots development.
This bold step by Ogunwobi aligns with the growing trend of diaspora philanthropy, as Nigerians abroad seek to bridge developmental gaps in their hometowns. The foundation is set to make a lasting impact, starting with its immediate interventions in education and community welfare in Ogbomoso.
