AN Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Wednesday, remanded a 21-year-old man, Omosuyi Olorunfemi in custody for alleged N545,000 theft.
The prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between July and December 2018 in Opa, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the defendant stole the sum of N545,000 through transfer from the handset, property of one Mr and Mrs Abe Michael.

According to him, the offence contravenes Sections 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused, who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of stealing.
Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi, who refused to grant the defendant bail, ordered him to be remanded in Ile-Ife prison custody.
Owolawi adjourned the case until May 21 for further hearing.
