This is coming on the heels of renewed outcry by the residents of West Africa’s largest city by land mass that their waste products were not being cleared by PSP collectors as at when due.
Chief Ishola said that lack of capacity and ability of old Private Service Providers (PSPs) was to blame.
“We’ve been having problems with the old PSP collectors. However, we now have new PSP collectors with the capacity to deliver on board and they will be resuming shortly,” he said.
The commissioner added that new routes had been distributed among the PSP collectors for them to operate, adding that there will be effective monitoring of their performance to ensure that the job of waste collection in Ibadan metropolis is effectively done.
