The House of Representatives on Thurday asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices (ICPC) and other Related Offences Commission to prosecute a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, and other promoters of the Abuja Centenary City Project valued at $18.376 billion.
Those recommended for prosecution along with the former SGF include former Minister of the FCT, Mr. Bala Mohammed; the sole directors of Centenary City Plc, Ms. Boma Ozobia; and Mr. Paul Oki.
The House however, discarded minority report of a member of the House Committee on Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Linus Okorie who faulted recommendations of the committee.
The Chairman, House Committee on Federal Capital Territory, Honourable Herman Hembe moved for the consideration of the recommendations of the committee that probed the allegation of abuses of the project.
The House while considering the report of the committee, presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, the House also asked that public money expended on the project should be recovered for the Federal Government.
