The Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) has directed Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) to maintain the existing Loan to Deposit Ratio of 65 per cent for the interim.

This is contained in a letter to all banks seen by Tribune Online and signed by the Director of banking supervision CBN, Ahmad Abdullahi.
By this latest directive, the apex banking sector regulator has cleared the air on speculations that it will increase banks’ Loan to Deposit Ratio to 70 per cent by 2020.
