AS part of the efforts of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to cushion the effect of the economic recession in the country, the Apex Bank through its programme Anchor Borrowers Program (ABP) has targeted 30,000 farmers in Bauchi state to promote agriculture and generate more jobs for the teeming youths in the state.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the stakeholders meeting held at BSADP conference hall Bauchi , the Deputy Director, Development and Finances of CBN Bauchi, Masa’ud Ibrahim Tulu, said though the target in Bauchi was 30, 000 farmers adding that already over 10,000 had registered, opened account with five Banks of FCMB, UBA, Sterling, Jaiz and BOA.
According to him, under the scheme CBN would screen registered farmers and train the extension workers to make up with the Agricultural technology and the structures of the Scheme.
