Lagos PDP chairman, Adegbola Dominic, dies at 73

Adegbola Dominic

Chairman, Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Dominic Adegbola, died on Wednesday at the age of 73, Nigerian Tribune has learnt.

Spokesperson of the party, Barr. Taofik Gani, confirmed this in a telephone chat, saying the PDP chieftain, who had taken ill for some days past and was receiving treatment, died at Gbagbada General Hospital.

It would be recalled that a Lagos High Court judgment recently reinstated him into office as the party chairman in the state.

Dominic, a medical practitioner, was a grassroots politician from the days of defunct Action Group (AG) led by the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

He had held several other political positions, including being State SDP officer; State Chairman of PAC and National Chairman of APN (Founded by late Jakande).

He had also contested Lagos State governorship under the platform of APGA, while he also contested the Lagos West Senatorial primary of the Social Democratic Party, a contest between him and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
