BIC swears in Adelola as Speaker of students’ parliament

 

Bodija International College, Ibadan, has sworn in Honorable Oyinkansola Adelola as the new elected Speaker of the college students’ parliament.

Other democratically elected student leaders of the college for the 2019/20 academic session include the head boy, Idode Emmanuel; head girl, Aremu Airat, among other officers.

The swearing-in ceremony, which was held on Wednesday, at the school’s mini-stadium, was witnessed by the college management, parents and members of the school’s Board of Governors.

The vice principal of the college, Mr Franklyn Dairo, declared that the college recognised the critical roles of school prefects within the school system in a democratic way while adding that the college would aspire to achieve more by investing in human capital development of everyone in the system.

Director of schools, Mrs Funmilayo Williams, in her remarks, said the college believed in exposing its students to leadership training in preparing them for the future.

This, she said, informed the college to introduce a democratic system of leadership and governance to its students to intimate themselves with the system early enough.
