Governor Ortom had embarked on two-week vacation which took him to China penultimate Friday.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Terver Akase in a statement made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday said that the governor has decided to return home following the gruesome attack on a church in the state on Tuesday.
He said, “the governor will cut short his vacation and address the security challenge occasioned by the ongoing killing of Benue people by armed herdsmen.”
During his vacation which he spends in China, the governor had handed over the reign of government to his deputy, Benson Abounu.
The statement added, “In the Governor’s absence, the Acting Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu has done a commendable job.”
